This annual monetary award was established to honor the memory of Scott Deaton and to promote academic excellence for students majoring in Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama.
Priority of consideration will be given to junior or senior students in good academic standing, who are from states in the Southeastern Athletic Conference and who are majoring in Criminal Justice. Consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities. Among qualified applicants, the deciding factor shall be financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
Applications, which are available in the department office, should be returned no later than December 4. Applicants should also include their current resume and an explanation of their leadership qualifications.
