In April, Melissa will present preliminary results from her thesis at the 2023 Southern Studies Conference in Montgomery, Alabama. Her submission entitled “Analyzing Police Incident reports at a Southern District Attorney’s Office” examines 569 incident report descriptions using thematic content analysis. Further examination of themes will present an understanding of the nuances involved in the investigation process. These findings have implications for local law enforcement and best practices for investigations.
