Dr. Dolliver and Dr. Lichtenstein, both professors in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama, examined blame attribution in popular media concerning the families of Dylan Klebold, Eric Harris, and Adam Lanza and the role of gender and gender constructions in the assignment of that blame. An article based on their findings, “The Mothers of Mass Murderers: A Gender Analysis of the Columbine and Newtown Tragedies,” will appear in an upcoming issue of the journal Deviant Behavior.
