The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice will be hosting an Alumni Career Forum focusing on Careers in Private Industry on November 15th at 6:30 pm in Room 120 Farrah Hall. We will have two distinguished alumni speaking about their careers and guidance on how to translate your Criminology & Criminal Justice degree into a career in the private sector. Our speakers are:
Brand Elverston – Mr. Elverston is a 1984 graduate of our program. He spent over twenty years in loss prevention for Walmart, retiring in 2017 as their corporate Director of Asset Protection. He has since started his own consulting firm, Elverston LLC, working with corporations on innovative technologies for loss prevention, asset protection, and risk mitigation.
Derrick Traverzo – Mr. Traverzo is a 2005 graduate of our program. He is a vice president with Barclays Investment Bank. He specializes in compliance and investigative processes that allow financial institutions to ensure that clients and business partners are not engaged in illegal activities, such as money laundering.
