The Scott Deaton Endowed Scholarship in Criminal Justice was established to honor the memory of Scott Deaton and to promote academic excellence for students majoring in criminal justice in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama.
This scholarship is a one-time annual monetary award. Renewal of the scholarship is not automatic, but consideration may be given to recipients who reapplies for the scholarship, so long as they are in good academic standing. Priority of consideration will be given to junior or senior students, in good academic standing, who are from states comprising the members of the Southeastern Athletic Conference, and who are majoring in criminal justice in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Alabama. Consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities. Among qualified applicants, the deciding factor
shall be financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
A completed application and current resume must be returned to the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice no later than December 1, 2017.
