On November 18th, the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice hosted a Community Panel on the topic of Immigration and Crime. Dr. Lesley Reid was joined by Resha Swanson from the Adelante Alabama Worker Center and Special Agent Douglas Gilmer from the Department of Homeland Security. The panel members discussed the myths surrounding immigration and crime, as well as the challenges law enforcement face in working with immigrant communities.
