Dr. Yuliya Zabyelina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama. Her research focuses on transnational organized crime and corruption, as well as the existing responses to these crimes at the local, regional, and international levels. In her publications, she has examined how crime and justice are interconnected across national borders, influenced by global forces and trends, and how they impact individuals, communities, and societies on a global scale. Prior to moving to Tuscaloosa, Dr. Zabyelina held the position of Associate Professor of International Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York (CUNY), and worked as a consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
