Alumni Profiles: Randall Shields (B.A. & M.S. in Criminal Justice)

Randall Shields, who received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Criminal Justice from The University of Alabama, has risen to impressive heights.

He now serves as a Vice President and a Senior Field Investigator for Regions Bank Corporate Security.

Randall attributes a lot of his success to his experiences at UA. As he summarized, if he had not “committed myself to completing the master’s degree, [I] would not have enjoyed all the professional success those efforts have provided me and my family over the years.”

Earlier in his career, Randall joined the Hoover Police Department, where he started as a Patrol Officer and then worked his way up. He subsequently became one of Hoover PD’s Accident Investigators with specialized training from the Institute of Police Technology and Management in Accident Reconstruction and related subjects, and then was later promoted to Police Sergeant and then to Lieutenant. In this latter position, Randall served as Police Records Manager, 911 Operations Center Manager, and Patrol Watch Commander.

Now, as a Vice President and a Senior Field Investigator for Regions Bank Corporate Security, Randall manages a wide range of matters related to the security of Regions branch locations.

We are thrilled to hear about Randall’s continued success and hope his story helps inspire current and future Alabama students.

Congratulations Randall Shields — and Roll Tide!
