Dr. Lanier Appointed to AAS and AMSA Positions

Criminal Justice Department Chair Dr. Mark M. Lanier has been appointed to be the regional representative for the Alabama Academy of Sciences‘ (AAS) National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium research competition. This is an annual event that fosters research among High School students. Their next regional “Paper Reading” will be held in February on the campus at UA.

In addition, Dr. Lanier has been elected Secretary for the Alabama-Mississippi Sociological Association (AMSA) for 2012-2013. He begins his term immediately and looks forward to working at strengthening Sociology’s visibility at UA and in the region.
