CJSA & Alpha Phi Sigma work to fight human trafficking

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Criminal Justice Student Association and Alpha Phi Sigma will be partnering with organizations around campus to help raise money and collect items for a local shelter for victims of sex trafficking, The Well House of Birmingham.

April activities begin Tuesday, April 4 with talks from experts on human trafficking, including a representative from The Well House, an officer from a sex trafficking task force, and a survivor of child sex trafficking. The event will be held at 6pm in North Lawn 2008.

The organizations have also organized fundraisers in concert with several local restaurants. A portion of the proceeds from meals purchased between 5 and 8pm on the dates below will benefit the victims of sex trafficking.

An item drive will be announced later in the month.
